Szilárd Matusik

I graduated in 2007 from the Budapest University of Technology with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Alongside my studies, I began working in 2003 at Interaktív Kft., the main production company of TV2 at the time. Initially, I was responsible for digitizing filmed material, but from 2005 onward I worked as an editor, eventually collaborating with all the major Hungarian TV channels. Starting in 2011, I served as lead editor, and from 2012 I also worked as a post-production director on productions with budgets of millions of Euros. Through my company, Flame Film Bt., I handled complete post-production for numerous television programs and produced commercials, music videos, promotional films, and concert films. Thanks to my background in electrical engineering, I also took on the role of technical operation manager in several productions.

Our self-produced documentary film series, Moleman (Vakondok), was successfully featured at several prestigious international film festivals and has been included in educational curricula not only by Hungarian higher education institutions but also by leading American universities such as Stanford University. The Moleman project allowed me to gain experience in every area of filmmaking. Over the course of five films, I undertook the roles of producer, production manager, director, editor, technician, cinematographer, sound engineer, colorist, VFX artist, and graphic designer. I successfully ran three crowdfunding campaigns, coordinated teams of over 100 people, and built a fan base of several thousand around the Moleman films.
